 Is the PTE "Home Edition" accepted for visas?

No. While Pearson offers an "Academic Online" (taken at home), it is generally not accepted for visa applications in Australia, the UK, or Canada. Always take your test at an official test center for visa purposes.

Is PTE easier than IELTS?

Many students prefer PTE because the Speaking is done on a computer (no face-to-face nerves) and the writing is less "academic" than the IELTS Task 2. However, it requires a very high typing speed and good computer literacy.

What should I bring to the test center?

Only your original, valid Passport. No pens, watches, or paper are allowed inside; the center will provide a digital notepad and pen.

Can I use templates for the Essay and Describe Image?

In 2026, the AI has become better at detecting "fixed templates." While structures are helpful, you must now include more relevant keywords from the prompt or image to get full marks for content.

What if I make a mistake while speaking?

Do not stop or try to correct yourself repeatedly. The AI prioritizes Oral Fluency. If you stumble, keep moving; a small mistake is less damaging than a long silence.

Can I skip a question if it's too hard?

You can, but it is not recommended. Since there is no negative marking for most questions, it is always better to provide a guess than to leave a blank.
