In short
Studying in the UK in 2027: the short answer
The UK's main intake is September 2027, with a smaller January 2028 intake. For a Student visa you need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from a licensed university, an accepted English score (most universities ask for IELTS 6.0 to 6.5), proof that you can pay your first year's tuition and up to nine months of living costs, and a TB test. For September 2027, start applying now.
Intakes
September 2027 (the main intake) and January 2028. A few universities also start in May.
Money to show
Your first year's tuition, plus living costs for up to 9 months: £1,203 a month outside London or £1,570 in London.
English score
IELTS 6.0 to 6.5 for most degrees, or an accepted test such as PTE Academic. Some universities accept strong Grade 12 English marks instead.
When to start
Now to March 2027 for September 2027. By August 2027 for January 2028.
Why the UK
A degree that works for your career
The UK offers shorter degrees, world-famous universities and a long-established Nepali community.

World-ranked universities
Imperial, Oxford, Cambridge and UCL are all in the global top 10, and UK degrees are recognised by employers worldwide.
Work while you study
On a degree-level course you can work up to 20 hours a week during term time, and full-time in official holidays.
Stay and work after you graduate
The Graduate Route lets you stay and work after your degree: 18 months if you apply from 1 January 2027, or 3 years after a PhD.
Shorter degrees, lower total cost
Most Bachelor's degrees take 3 years and most Master's take 1 year, so you finish sooner and spend less on living costs.
What UKVI and universities look for
What a strong case looks like in 2027
UK Visas and Immigration checks applications from Nepal carefully, and most universities hold their own credibility interview before they issue a CAS. The applications that succeed show these six things clearly.
Good academic results
Solid marks in your last qualification, in a subject that leads naturally to your chosen course.
Good English scores
A strong IELTS, PTE or TOEFL result that meets the visa and university requirements comfortably, not just the minimum.
Funds held for 28 days
Money for your first year's tuition and living costs, held for 28 days in a row, from a clear and genuine source.
Commitment to finish your intended course
You have researched your course and career well, you are passionate about it, and you plan to complete the full course.
A clear career outcome
You know what the degree leads to after graduation, and it matches your interests and background.
A high-quality education provider
Check the rankings, search for reviews and look for facilities that suit your needs before you choose where to apply.
UK Student visa
What you need for your visa in 2026–27
Once your profile is strong, this is what goes into your student visa application, and how we prepare each part with you.
01
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)
You need a CAS from a university licensed to sponsor international students. We secure offers from at least two universities, so you always have a backup.
02
Credibility interview
Most universities interview you before they issue your CAS, and UKVI may interview you too. We help you explain clearly why this course, this university and the UK fit your career plan, and practise with you.
03
Money for study and living
Your first year's unpaid tuition, plus living costs for up to 9 months (£1,203 a month outside London, £1,570 in London), held for 28 days in a row. Education loans from approved banks also count. Our review team checks every document.
04
English test score
Most universities ask for IELTS 6.0 to 6.5 (or an accepted equivalent). Courses below degree level need a UKVI-approved test such as IELTS for UKVI. Our IELTS and PTE classes help you reach the score you need.
05
TB test and health surcharge
Students from Nepal need a TB test certificate from a UK-approved clinic. You also pay the Immigration Health Surcharge of £776 a year, which gives you access to the NHS.
06
Visa fee and biometrics
The Student visa fee is £558 when you apply from outside the UK. You then give your fingerprints and photo at the visa centre in Kathmandu. We make sure your file is complete before you pay.
Changed in 2026: what Nepali students should know
Graduate Route becomes 18 months
From 1 January 2027, the Graduate Route gives 18 months of post-study work instead of 2 years. PhD graduates still get 3 years.
More money to show
From 30 November 2026, living costs rise to £1,203 a month outside London and £1,570 in London, for up to 9 months.
Higher visa fee
The Student visa fee rose from £524 to £558 on 8 April 2026. The health surcharge stays at £776 a year.
Rules change often. These figures were checked in November 2026 against GOV.UK information. Our counsellors will give you the latest rules before you apply.

Common visa worries
Honest answers to the questions students ask us most
I have a study gap. Will my visa be refused?
Not automatically. What matters is a clear, documented explanation of what you did in the gap (work, training, family responsibilities) and why this course makes sense for your career now.
My grades are low. Is the UK still possible?
Often, yes. Universities look at your whole profile, and foundation, diploma or pre-Master's courses can lead into a degree. We find the route that fits your marks.
I was refused a visa before. Can I apply again?
Yes, but you must declare it. We review your refusal letter, fix the reasons it gave and only apply again when your file is genuinely strong.
My family will sponsor me, partly with a loan. Is that enough?
The money must be in your own or your parents' name, and education loans from approved banks also count. Universities and officers check that the funds are genuine and come from a clear source, so we review this with you before you apply.
How long does the visa take?
UKVI usually decides Student visa applications made outside the UK within about 3 weeks of your biometrics appointment. Summer is the busiest time, so apply as soon as you have your CAS. We only apply once every document is ready.
Can you guarantee my visa?
No one can, and anyone who promises is not being honest with you. What we do promise: a genuine, well-documented file and a straight answer if your profile needs more work first.
